Chevy Cobalt spot "Bump"

This video, courtesy of youtube, was made in order to promote the Chevy Cobalt. This car wat not at the time out to purchase, but the commercial was made in order to market the car for that reason. It markets the advances the new model of the car has to the previous one. Advertisements like these are shown on TV, the internet, pretty much anywhere in order for an audience to see, and later possibly purchase. As a lover of the chevy cobalt, I am most certainly convinced by the shiny car they have displayed. The car is considered 'innovative' because of the advances that are shown such as, the "bump" feature and how the car will not be affected if entered in a collision with another.

So Many Variables to a Business

To be honest, my team did absolutely terrible. Nonetheless, we still kept a positive attitude and used what we knew to try to plan this inventory accordingly. If a product was not selling, we lowered the price to where we still received a profit, or changed up the marketing aspect a little bit, meaning location and/or daily amount. This can be a little confusing to figure out considering there are many other variables involved (customer wants/needs, convenience level, etc). The Lemon Spritz seemed to not want to sell as fast as the Clear pure bottles so we spent the majority of our time trying to mark down the prices on the lemon spritz and adding more marketing to that particular product. On the other hand, the Clear pure, specifically the 500 mL bottles were selling too quickly, so we had to slow down the process in order for it's sales to be proportionate to the other products on the shelves. By slowing down the selling of the clear pure bottles, we simply increased the price a tad bit and switched it's marketing over to the Lemon Spritz bottles who necessarily needed it. The real question is, does the marketing even really matter, or is just price/customer approval?

Profit should never be the only thing to consider in business, especially when there are way too many other variables to be considered. These include, customer preference, availability, pricing (what the owner can afford), mark downs, mark ups, etc. Having a sales strategy can go a long way when it comes to getting rid and replenishing these products. In reality, it is quite a quick process and should be done strategically with care.

Unfortunately, there was not too much that went well for us. Our game wasn't even working properly until about the 5th day.. so that was unfortunate. We got a late start in the game which means less time to strategize for a good ending inventory. If more time was allotted, we could have first taught ourselves about the products/selling strategies and gained a little bit of knowledge first before jumping into the realness of a company's background.

Two things I learned: There are countless variables behind the scenes of a business when it comes to inventory, sales, marketing, planning, pricing, etc. There are numerous things that have to be looked at while determining what to do next with the inventory and sales. All of these variables have to mix together well in order to sell a product, have a steady inventory, and ultimately gain a profit.

Career Respect Violation

The employee of this company was obviously completely unaware of the certain consequences that would happen if he would post private information on Facebook for the world to see. He was obviously blind to the fact that Facebook is on the internet and is part of the social media networking system. Even though this is true, this character should not have posted anything demeaning about the company to begin with. After all, it is his place of occupation and anything resembling the lack of respect towards the company should be examined, especially if it's a harsh comment made by an employer. The fact that he would go out of his way to post on Facebook something demeaning about his own company shows a lack of respect that he apparently has for his own employer. Had the company not found the first post this man had left, he could have gone on to post more about the company and maybe even leak secrets or inside information that maybe only certain employees are supposed to know about. Although this man may have a slight rebuttal to the company for invading in his privacy, but in their defense he was trash talking the company, not just to one person, but to everyone that has access to the internet. This action should not be looked upon lightly, because it is common knowledge not to be a disgrace to such a corporate organization. This will more than likely be a lesson to all company employees with a Facebook, Twitter, or any other social media networking connection.

Decision Analysis: Teamwork

Through research and time on the internet, I have found that group decision making can be considered a software used for decision making purposes. I have been known to be a person who believes in teamwork, and can see why this would be considered a type of analysis tool to help the decision making process. The basic principle of a software in decision making it looks at the question from all views. A team, I would say, can definitely enable many different perspectives on a certain topic. When it comes to making decisions on a daily basis, I call up my dad for his opinion. We work together as a 'team' on certain subjects. He gives me a different perspective than I might see on the issue. If he doesn't help enough with the movement of my decision, then I will call up my mom and see what she has to say. Hearing all sides of a certain subject can really enhance or disengage your decision in the end.

When it comes to grabbing info that supports my parents opinions, I will obviously at times use the internet to see if what they are saying is actually true. This can be handled through internet databases. This gives someone a clear view of what something actually is, because it has been studied about.

Plagarism: Epidemic because of Convenience

To avoid plagiarism, college students should remember to always cite the sources. If what you are writing, its common knowledge, so you don't have to cite. Making sure to use your own ideas is quite important when it comes to not only writing a sufficient paper, but to avoid plagiarism as well.

Unfortunately, technology makes it almost too easy for students to get a hold of scholarly sources, and to use them for their assignments. When encountered with a database filled with scholarly sources, the student should read it, understand it, then interpret it in their own words. Computers allow access to the sources for convenience, but the plagiarism abuse is almost made too easy. More students than not do not get caught with plagiarism because colleges and universities do not make it their first priority to reprimand students that plagiarize.

when a teacher does spot plagiarism by a student, they will bring it to the board of education's attention. If the student is found guilty of plagiarism, they will automatically be given a zero and will either be kicked out of school or suffering a suspension. When found guilty, the university does not take the situation for the student. It is wrong to steal and use someone else's work, let alone someone's with a doctorate or Phd, that obviously knows more than you about a given topic.

Facebook and Ethics

Facebook is used daily by many college students, as well as high school students these days. A lot of people use it to keep in contact with others they meet over the summer, some use it to market themselves in music, etc., but some use it for other reasons.. No one cares about what you and your boyfriend are doing on Friday night, no one wants to see your daily agenda, and I really don't think anyone wants to read a Facebook status and then just want to cry right after because it's so depressing. A lot of middle school aged girls these days are on Facebook, typing their whole life story, sharing it with over 1,000 people. Facebook has become the epidemic for young girls and boys to share everything with everyone. Facebook makes nothing private anymore, well, ever since they updated it to super creeper status now. Someone I love dearly was using facebook as an outlet to show off her 'assets'. She also continues to put her life story of her and her boyfriend on her page. Not everyone wants to hear the daily update. I quickly reminded her that facebook is not the time and place to do those things.

Facebook has become something to me that takes away your morals if you use it in the wrong way. If you're going to use it at all, you should be using it for good things, like marketing, or trying to start a business page. Facebook shouldn't be a place to put life stories or a place to try to start a pity party.

Is Greed The Destruction Of Our Government Corporations and Each of Us?

Greed is one of the biggest contributors to the downfall of our economy. America wants "bigger and better" things, but simply can not afford it, unless more taxes are implied on the citizens...

The government continues to make objects like computers and cell phones more necessary for people to sustain the standard of living. Most people in truth, do not even want anything to do with the uprising of technology and are outraged of the encouraged items, beliefs, and constant change having to do with the economy.
